202filmcollective

About Us

202filmcollective is a D.C.-based photography collective dedicated to promoting film as a creative medium. Our members are driven by the desire to create art, document memories, and tell stories through traditional film photography. It is a 100% independent organization designed and managed by local artists, photographers, and creatives.

Philosophy

Our goal is to create a local community to foster, educate, and showcase film photography in the DMV area. The collective seeks to spread the usage of film through disseminating knowledge on shooting, processing, and printing techniques. We seek to keep the tradition of film alive with a monthly series of seminars and workshops, as well as offering mentorships to those wishing to pursue the art of film photography.

Ambitions

The spirit behind 202filmcollective is collaboration. The group places emphasis on interaction in order to engage artists, curators, and technicians in the process and experiencing film photography. Going forward we hope to create collaborations and forge partnerships with art galleries and production studios.
